Here's a comment of a friend FL, to the Roma show which perfectly suits what I attended yesterday evening
"People in Europe who will be attending the shows are in for a treat. This is NOT the Stephen Stills you might expect. Forget about the vocals. We know Stephen can't sing like 30 years ago.
Tonight he put together an EXCELLENT show. Very similar in the format to his 2 recent tours in the US: opening with the band (Helplessly Hoping), then solo. Intermission. Second set: electric with the band, a very tight and rocking combo!
Stephen did the unexpected and he sang Dylan's "Girl From The North Country","The Blind Fiddler" during the acoustic set, or "White Nigger", "Bluebird", "Make Love to You" and...Tom Petty / Mudcrutch's "The wrong thing to do" ("a song about my life", he said)! "
I add that he pkayed 3 songs from the Buffalo Springfield vaults, the group where he played with his old mate Neil Young: Rock and Roll Woman, Bluebird, For what it's worth !
Show was taped from 3rd row right center. The beginning of the second set caught me by surprise so I had tu rush towards my seat after having switched on my edirol ...
