What Toast has to give is an excursion into the world of music - one that I had never made before. Songs Like ‘Gateway’ and ‘How ya doin?’ possess a groove based in the history of the TOAST recording studio…… where Coltrane played many of his masterpieces, but it was also influenced by my previous tour. Returning from South America, the Horse brought that rhythm back to studio, continuing the quest for the finished TOAST album.	Lo que ofrece Toast es una excursión al mundo de la música que nunca había hecho antes. Canciones como Gateway y How ya doin? poseen un ritmo basado en la historia del estudio de grabación de TOAST, donde Coltrane tocó muchas de sus obras maestras, pero también influenciado por mi gira anterior. Al regresar de Sudamérica y volver al estudio para continuar la tarea de terminar el álbum TOAST, el Caballo se trajo ese ritmo al estudio.
Eventually the album was finished at Toast studios, but i did not put it out at that time. That was a pretty big mistake for me. Toast had the groove. It should have come out. Instead, after spending so much time on it, i moved to another studio and recorded with Booker T, Duck Dunn and Steve Potts, along with Poncho Sampedro, doing many of the same songs again.	Al final, el álbum se terminó en los estudios Toast, pero no lo publiqué en ese momento. Fue un gran error por mi parte. Toast tenía duende. Debería haber salido. En cambio, después de dedicarle tanto tiempo, me trasladé a otro estudio y grabé con Booker T, Duck Dunn y Steve Potts, junto con Poncho Sampedro, tocando de nuevo gran parte de las canciones.
These songs were then well developed, having spent months writing and recording them with the horse at Toast studios during a tumultuous time for me, as is told in the lyrics. Possibly the songs had already had their ‘cherry’ moment. If I had put this out when it was made, it would have a had an effect on everything I did from then on - but that was not to be. When you hear Toast, I want you to know that it should have come out back in the early 2000s when it was made. I do think it is right up there with all the Crazy Horse records, at or near the top of the heap.	Estas canciones estaban entonces bien desarrolladas, después de haber pasado meses escribiéndolas y grabándolas con el Caballo en los estudios Toast durante una época tumultuosa para mí, como se cuenta en las letras. Posiblemente, las canciones ya tuvieron su momento. Quizá, si lo hubiera sacado cuando se hizo, hubiera influido en todo lo que hice a continuación pero no fue así. Cuando escuchéis Toast, quiero que sepáis que debería haber salido a principios de la década de 2000, cuando se hizo. Creo que está a la altura de todos los discos de Crazy Horse, en la cima o muy cerca de ella.
I put out ‘Are you Passionate?’ instead. It included many of the same songs, although my own performances are not as immediate as the Toast versions already were at the time. On songs like Quit, there is no comparison. So here is an album that should have been released when it was made, 20 years back now.	En cambio, saqué Are you Passionate? que icluía gran parte de las canciones, aunque mis interpretaciones no son tan directas como las versiones de Toast lo fueron en su momento. En canciones como Quit, no hay comparación. Así que estamos ante un álbum que debería haberse publicado cuando se hizo, hace ya 20 años.
