Dando un paseo por HyperRust me he parado en el listado de canciones y casi sin querer he seleccionado aquellas que todavía permanecen inéditas en discos oficiales. Muchas no me suenan de nada y otras parecen modificaciones de otras conocidas, pero los colegas de HyperRust merecen toda mi confianza y cuando ellos lo dicen, por algo será.

De todas maneras, muchas me ha salido. 107. Demasiadas.

También es verdad que no todas son absolutamente inéditas. Los agujeros legales en Italia, por ejemplo, han permitido poner bajo el sol un sin fin de bootlegs y colecciones de rarezas que han hecho y hace aun nuestras delicias. Por otro lado, algunos seguidores del sector duro han tenido la estupenda paciencia de recopilar, reunir y compartir verdaderas joyas para nosotros, por lo que les deberemos eterno agradecimiento. Y Neil Young también ha puesto su granito de arena en esto y nos ha obsequiado en innumerables conciertos con verdaderas perlas de sus baúles: creo recordar el Tour 2008 y 2001 como de los mejores.

Así que me he picado y he rebuscado en mi colección; y de las ciento siete del principio, he podido dejarlas en menos de la mitad. No está mal todavía.

Y éstas son las que conocemos, así que imagínate cómo tienen que estar los baúles del Tío Neil. Sin duda que hay para unos cuantos Archives más.

Te dejo en compañía de unas cuantas rarezas. No están evidentemente en la lista de arriba (¿Qué te crees? ¿Que ceno los viernes con Neil Y Pegi en el rancho?). Aunque eso sí, hasta el momento no han sido incluidas en un disco, pero han sido interpretadas en algún concierto o grabadas en alguna vieja sesión de estudio y de ahí las hemos pillado. Aunque no por eso han perdido la cualidad de raras. Ya me dirás qué te han parecido.

No merece la pena descargar estas mismas versiones. Te recuerdo que están puestas aquí solamente para que te hagas una idea, por eso están comprimidas de forma casi asesina. Si te interesan, yo cuento con versiones Flac y me gustan los trueques ¿vale?

Feliz 2009!!!! Ya tenemos 5 añitos

Hoy, La Playa de Neil cumple un lustro: del 1 de Enero de 2004 hasta hoy.

Ya sé, ya sé. Me vas a decir que estos cuatro chicos no son nuestros Cuatro Chicos, que si me he vuelto loco o qué. Pero es que he pensado que para que nos felicite a ti y a mí, es preferible que lo haga la "competencia" y así los invitamos a venir por aquí y a conocer la playa.

Han sido cinco años recopilando noticias, comentando discos y canciones, avisando de cuantos bootlegs hemos avistado en el horizonte, traduciendo noticias, crónicas, revistas y chismorreos varios, asistiendo contigo a los conciertos, disfrutando con miles de fotos, conociendo a gente estupenda de todas partes del mundo, traduciendo las letras de sus canciones, creando un foro donde poder hablar, etc, etc, etc... y lo más importante de todo, sirviendo de punto de encuentro de cuantos seguidores de la música de Neil Young lo han querido.

Nuestro primer objetivo ha sido siempre que a ningún fan del Tío Neil se le pudiera calificar de "solitario", se encontrase donde quiera que se encontrase. Esperamos haberlo conseguido con esas casi 3.000 visitas mensuales de media y sus casi 2000 noticias leídas unas 350.000 veces en total.

En nuestra contra juega la frustración de no haber podido organizar un encuentro a modo de Rust Festival Ibérico con el que poder estrechar aun nuestros lazos de amistad y establecer otros nuevos con gente de todos los rincones. Pero somos tozudos y seguiremos en el empeño.

Pero ahora, solo me queda felicitarte el año que acaba de empezar. En mi nombre y en el del resto de mis compañeros.

¡ESPERO QUE EL 2009 SALGA DE MEJOR FORMA QUE HA ENTRADO!

Cada taper las ha grabado desde la audiencia con diferentes medios, pero todas tienen en común el haber sido grabadas en el CD desde archivos en formato FLAC, así que la calidad es la mejor posible en cada caso.

Y todas tienen algo en común: son las primeras versiones que se ha oído públicamente. Así que con el tiempo, este será un boot con solera. Guárdalo en tu bodega y déjalo reposar.

Incluso con unas portadas únicas, irrepetibles y muy vacilonas (y no lo digo porque las haya hecho yo, claro :-)

¿Y que tienes que hacer para conseguir una copia? Pues algo muy, muy sencillo.

Escribe algo para los playeros, envíamelo, yo lo publico aquí con tu nombre y ya tienes tu copia en el bolsillo.

¿Y qué puedes hacer? Pues cualquier cosa que tú sepas que nos puede interesar. Seguro que tú sabes muchas cosas de Neil y su música. Y ahora, con una sola tienes suficiente. El tema, a tu elección.

¿Cómo de extenso? No demasiado: entre media y una hoja A4 de texto, más las fotos o vídeos que consideres oportunos.
